INJUSTICE FOR ALL
Callum The Heavy Metal Kid is a worldwide phenomenon.
At the age of 7 he was busking in Canberra, posting YouTube videos. It was whilst busking in Garema Place that he was given the moniker of “The Heavy Metal Kid” and through that saved enough money to buy his own baby grand piano…
At the age of 10 he went on Australia’s Got Talent and blew everyone away with his solo rendition of Ozzie Osbourne‘s Crazy Train. He then played Metallica’s Enter Sandman in the semi-finals and really blew people away. That video alone has received over 30 million views online… In the Grand Final of Australia’s Got Talent he played Through The Fire And Flame by Dragon Force, a piece that is considered amongst the 10 hardest heavy metal guitar playing songs there is…
In 2017, at the age of 12, he released his first properly produced original song – Injustice For All – and we were asked to make a video clip for it. Callum and his parents found these amazing industrial burlesque dancers, including Lady Sparks, all of whom are highly sort after performers for big corporate and sporting events on the Gold Coast. With a great location, a handful of school kids and our crew, we shot this video in one day with Michael and Rachel co-directing. Since then, the clip and the making of it have been featured on the ABC TV documentary Making Child Prodigies, where Callum was one of the 5 stars.
It’s been an exciting ride for Callum so far, and we are sure that many more great things are going to happen to him… Oh, and did we mention that he’s also an academic genius? When he was in Year 6 he was advanced to Year 7 and then Year 8 maths. Now at the age of 13 he’s doing Year 11 maths and Year 10 physics. Following the paths of Brian May and Brian Cox, he plans on being a Metal Guitarist Physicist!!! Go Callum! How cool is that!
